Microsoft Word Not Opening Hyperlinks Proxy Mac

This morning previously successful hyperlinks (linking to Internet from Word document) suddenly stopped working. Instead of opening the link, I get the message 'Unable to open Http:// the address I had inserted. Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy server.'

Oct 15, 2019  Thanks jessevas, that would not work for our situation unfortunately. This is a public site so we have no control over client's systems. The fix would have to be server side. Sigh, turns out our firewall team was blocking all HTTP traffic to the site. They added a redirect and its all working fine now. Edited Dec 9, 2016 at 20:19 UTC.


I cut/pasted part of the script and emailed it to myself and was able to open it from my Mail application - but not Word

Anybody have any idea of what is going on? I had been able to successfully use the links in the document until this morning.
